Steamship Sudan

River Nile, Egypt

a waiter, impeccably dressed, greets me with a soft ‘bonjour, habibi’. in the dining room, tajines and lentil salads arrive on monogrammed china. every detail whispers of the 1920s, while the Nile glides by as a backdrop of temples, tales, and history. i’m on board steam ship Sudan, a floating masterpiece crafted in 1885, a time when travel was an art form. the gleaming wooden details and classic steam engines remind me of a time when Egypt was the stage for major archaeological discovery and grandeur. for over a century, steam ship Sudan has sailed the Nile in style. today, it features eighteen cabins and six suites spread across three decks, continuing its legacy of timeless sophistication.
